[Watch] Virat Kohli’s priceless reaction as Akash Deep smacks Pat Cummins for a massive six in BGT 2024-25 3rd Test

Team India batter Virat Kohli was ecstatic in the dressing room after Akash Deep hit a mighty six off Pat Cummins on Day 4 of the ongoing third Test against Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane. It was a fascinating contest between the two teams on Tuesday, December 17, as India looked to avoid a follow-on against the home side's fiery pace attack.

KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja hit gritty half-centuries and kept their side afloat after the rest of the batters fell cheaply. However, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc kept chipping away with wickets and reduced the visiting team to 213/9, needing 33 more to avoid follow-on.

Akash Deep then joined hands with Jasprit Bumrah and after weathering a short-ball barrage from Australian pacers, the duo batted sensibly and stitched a 39-run unbeaten stand for the last wicket to bail out their side from a worrisome situation.

Akash Deep (27*) also hit a stunning six off Pat Cummins, which evoked a priceless reaction from teammate Virat Kohli. You can watch Kohli's reaction to the mighty hit in the post below:

"I think the mind is playing a trick"- Dinesh Karthik on Virat Kohli's repeated struggles against outside off-stump balls

Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik recently analyzed Virat Kohli's dismissals in the ongoing BGT series and shed light on his struggles against the deliveries outside the off-stump. Speaking on Cricbuzz on the matter, Karthik said:

"If you are trying to tell me that Virat doesn't know he shouldn't be playing outside the off stump, I don't think it is right. He is aware, he wants to leave it."

He added:

"But, as much as he is telling himself, when the game is on and he is in the middle and he is all alone, I think the mind is playing a trick, where the moment he sees it on release, his perception goes towards the ball and that is hampering him."
