[Watch] Virat Kohli’s sharp reflexes as he takes diving catch in IND vs SL 1st ODI

Virat Kohli is one of the fittest athletes in the world and he proved it once again during the opening ODI between India and Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, August 2. The 35-year-old dived to his right to complete a catch. Unfortunately, there was no edge on it.

Kohli, who was standing at the second slip, kept his eyes on the ball till the last moment as Washington Sundar went for an LBW appeal against Dunith Wellalage in the 27th over. Wellalage was adjudged out by the on-field umpire before he took the review. The replays showed that the ball would’ve missed the off-stump and he survived the dismissal.

Notably, Virat Kohli is playing his first ODI after the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The right-hander played a match-winning knock to help India beat South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final. He didn’t feature in the recently concluded T20I series as he has retired from the format. The Delhi batter retired as one of the three batters with 4,000-plus runs in T20Is.
