[Watch] Virat Kohli smiles in disbelief as Will Jacks takes apart Rashid Khan in GT vs RCB IPL 2024 match
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli's reaction went viral as Will Jacks smashed Rashid Khan to all parts of the ground in the IPL 2024 clash against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The 35-year-old smiled in disbelief as the Englishman was hammering the Afghan spin wizard for fun.
The incident occurred in the 16th over of the innings as Shubman Gill introduced his final dice, as the Titans looked to halt the juggernaut. However, it backfired as Kohli gave the strike to his partner in the first delivery of the over. Wills then clobbered four sixes and a couple of boundaries, carting the leg-spinner for 29 runs in an over. The final six also scripted Jacks' maiden IPL century off only 40 deliveries, with Rashid's figures reading an eye-watering 4-0-51-0.

Will Jacks, who missed the previous edition entirely, joined Kohli in the fourth over when Faf du Plessis holed out to deep mid-wicket after his brief fireworks. The pair initially struggled to get the ball away at their will, but found their footing after the halfway mark. The Royal Challengers chased down the target in only 16 overs, with the partnership between the duo standing at an unbroken 156.
"Virat kept his intensity up" - Will Jacks
The Surrey all-rounder, who received the Player of the Match award, asserted that Virat Kohli's intensity allowed him to take time to find rhythm, given he tried to overhit the ball early on.
The 25-year-old said at the post-match presentation:
"Amazing feeling right now. Faf and Virat got us off to a very good start. I struggled early on, but Virat kept his intensity up and gave me the chance to find my rhythm. Once we had the time-out, we said, "let's get two really good overs here and we win the game." Once that happened, I just kept going and amazing feeling right now. I was trying to be positive (against spin early on), was just struggling. I was trying to overhit the ball, probably little bit tensed. Once I got one away off Mohit, I relaxed, got into my innings and then just trusted myself."
With that, RCB have now registered consecutive wins. However, they are still placed at the bottom of the standings with three wins from 10 matches.
