[Watch] Virat Kohli speaks Bengali as Mehidy Hasan Miraz gifts him bat of his own company after IND vs BAN 2024 Tests
Virat Kohli spoke in Bengali as he endorsed the bat gifted from Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz after the two-match bilateral Test series. Mehidy notably presented a bat manufactured by his company, MKS Sports.
The 26-year-old co-founded the company along with former Bangladesh batter Imrul Kayes last year. MKS Sports has amassed a huge fan following, especially on Meta, with over 150,000 followers. They manufacture custom English Willow bats and also repair customers' old bats.
In a video doing the rounds on social media, Mehidy expressed his happiness at gifting his company's bat to Kohli. He then encouraged Kohli to spread the word about the quality of their bats. While accepting the bat graciously, the 35-year-old made a Bengali quip:
"MKS bat er khub bhalo achi (MKS bat, it is very good)."
"Very good bats, keep doing the good work. You make very good-quality bats. Continue this work and provide cricketers with quality bats," Kohli added.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz got rid of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in IND vs BAN Test series
Talented all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the finest bowler for Bangladesh in the recently concluded Test series against India. He scalped nine wickets and also contributed 64 runs. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were among his dismissals in the series.
In the first Test, he got rid of Kohli with a fuller delivery that hit his pads as the umpire deemed it LBW. However, the replay showed that Kohli had an inside edge, but chose not to review the decision.
The final test witnessed Mehidy turning the ball sharply and breaching the defense of Rohit, who was going all guns blazing.
Mehidy also played a key role in helping Bangladesh register a historic series victory against Pakistan. He picked up 10 wickets and garnered 155 runs as the Tigers secured a 2-0 whitewash.
