[Watch] Virat Kohli strapped with bandage on his knee during practice session ahead of BGT 2024-25 2nd Test

Team India's batting star Virat Kohli was seen with a bandage on his knee, indicating an injury scare for the former captain ahead of the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval, beginning on December 6. A video surfaced on social media amid the practice session, leaving fans concerned.

Nevertheless, the Delhi-born cricketer batted in free-flowing style and showed no signs of an apparent injury. Kohli will look to keep his form going as he was amongst the runs in the tourists' thumping 295-run win in the opening Test in Perth. The 36-year-old finished unbeaten on 100 as stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah declared their innings immediately after that.

The veteran batter also has an imposing record at the Adelaide Oval, averaging 63.63 in four Tests, including two centuries with a best of 141. He will look to replicate it on this occasion too.

Following the opening Test in Perth, Bumrah heaped praise on Kohli for being switched on in the second innings in Perth and capitalizing on the docile track later. He said in the press conference, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

"I have said this before, Virat Kohli doesn't need us, we need him. He is an experienced player. This is his fourth or fifth tour. So he knows his cricket better than anyone else. He looked in good shape, he was mentally switched on. Sometimes when you have such a long career, you bat in tough conditions and he has batted in tough scenarios for a long time, but it's difficult to do that all the time in every match."
"But he looked to be in a good space and obviously, he got a good delivery in the first innings, but he was still in a great space and he capitalised in the second innings."

The tourists do have some selection headaches for the second Test, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill returning.
