[Watch] Throwback video of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma visiting ISKCON temple in London goes viral

A throwback video of Team India star Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma visiting ISKCON temple in London to attend a kirtan has gone viral on social media. Kohli returned to India from the West Indies after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup to enjoy the celebrations before traveling to London.

The champion batter overcame a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign to step up big in the final against South Africa. Kohli top-scored with 76 as India pulled out a thrilling seven-run victory.

Meanwhile, a June 2023 video of Kohli and Anushka visiting the ISKCON temple to offer prayers to the Lord has been doing the rounds on social media as below:

Kohli and the other Team India members returned home last Thursday (July 4) to a sensational reception.

They visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi before flying to Mumbai in the evening for the victory parade and felicitation ceremony. After winning the Player of the Match in the final, Kohli announced his retirement from the T20I format.

He finished as the all-time leading run-scorer in T20 World Cups with 1,292 runs and second in overall T20Is with 4,188 runs.

"There was no margin for arrogance in the final" - Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli stated how he had to let go of any arrogance heading into the 2024 T20 World Cup final in a conversation with PM Narendra Modi during the team's meeting on July 4.

The 35-year-old had scored only 75 runs at an average of under 11 entering the summit clash. However, he saved his best for the last, helping India recover from a tricky 34/3 to a solid 176/7 in 20 overs.

"Whatever I was trying, it wasn't coming off. Whenever you feel like 'I can do it,' it's just the arrogance speaking. Basically, if your ego comes up, the game goes away from you. Sometimes, it's important to let that arrogance go off. There was no margin for arrogance in the final, especially with how everything panned out. As soon as I started giving respect to the game, it benefitted the team. It was a big lesson for me," said Kohli to the PM.

Kohli also recalled the drama surrounding the final and how the team came through to pull off the memorable win.

"We lived each ball at the end, we can't explain what was going on inside. We lost hope at one moment, then Hardik took a wicket and then with each ball, we got the energy. I am happy that I was able to contribute to the team in such a big game after a tough time. I won't be able to forget it. I was happy that I was able to take the team to a fighting total," stated Kohli.

Despite Kohli's defiant knock, the Proteas reduced the required equation to a very gettable 30 off five overs.

However, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh held their nerves in the end overs to seal India the title-clinching victory.
