The atmosphere at the Wankhede Stadium was electric as the crowd passionately sang the patriotic anthem Vande Mataram, composed by A.R. Rahman. The incident took place on Day 2 of the ongoing third and final Test match between India and New Zealand on Saturday, November 2.
During New Zealand's second innings, the North Stand of the stadium erupted with joy as fans sang patriotic song while India asserted control over the match.

Team India have some unforgettable memories at the Wankhede Stadium. They won the 2011 ODI World Cup on this very ground when MS Dhoni hit the iconic six that led the Men in Blue to victory. India also triumphed over New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2023 ODI World Cup in Mumbai.
Furthermore, during the felicitation ceremony following India's 2024 T20 World Cup win, the stadium was filled with fans who turned out in droves to support their heroes on that historic night. Together, players and supporters created goosebump-inducing moments by singing "Vande Mataram."
Indian bowlers take control of the game after the heroics of Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill
Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant (60) and Shubman Gill (90) were outstanding for the hosts in the morning session of Day 2, putting together a crucial 96-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Later, Washington Sundar finished unbeaten on 38, allowing India to reach a total of 263 runs in their first innings and secure an important lead of 28 runs.
Akash Deep set the tone for the Indian bowlers in the second innings by dismissing New Zealand captain Tom Latham for just one run. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin then teamed up effectively, helping to reduce the visitors from 94 for three to 150 for eight.
Will Young was the standout performer for the Blackcaps, scoring 51 runs off 100 balls. At stumps on Day 2, New Zealand were 171/9, maintaining a lead of 143 runs in the second essay.
