[Watch] West Indies take 3 early wickets to dent England's start, end Day 1 on a high in 3rd Test

West Indies bowlers took three early wickets to dent England’s first innings start and finish Day 1 on a positive note. It took place in the ongoing third Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Friday, July 26.

Jayden Seales struck twice to dismiss opener Zak Crawley (18 off 13 balls) and night watchman Mark Wood (eight-ball duck) off his consecutive overs. Meanwhile, Alzarri Joseph cleaned up the other opener Ben Duckett (3 of 12 deliveries).

Seales provided the first breakthrough in the fourth over. The speedster bowled a full-length ball wide outside off. Crawley went for a drive but ended up edging it toward the second slip where Jason Holder completed a well-judged catch to his left. On the next delivery, Joseph bowled another full-length delivery outside off. Duckett kept chasing at the ball only to manage a thick edge that hit the base of his off-stump.

Seales then bowled a brilliant delivery towards the off-stumps and Wood tried to defend it with hard hands. The right-hander ended up getting a thick outside edge and Holder took a good reflex catch at second slip to complete his second grab of the match.
