Tinashe Muchawaya took his team over the line by defending 21 runs in the final over as Joburg Bangla Tigers beat Cape Town Samp Army by five runs in the 2024 edition of Zim Afro T10 summit clash at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, September 29. Jack Taylor could only score a single when Cape Town needed seven runs off the last delivery despite beginning the over on a promising note with consecutive sixes.
The Bangla Tigers' players and fans looked over the moon as they celebrated the victory on and off the field, respectively. Sharing the video on X, Zim Afro T10βs official handle wrote:

What happened in the 2024 Zim Afro T10 final?
A clinical all-around performance helped Joburg Bangla Tigers beat Cape Town Samp Army by five wickets in the final on Sunday.
Asked to bat first, the Bangla Tigers put up 129/5 in their allotted 10 overs. Mohammad Shahzad starred with the bat, scoring 44 runs off 25 balls, including one six and six boundaries. Kusal Perera, Hazratullah Zazai, and skipper Sikandar Raza chipped in with 33(11), 19(11) and 12*(7), respectively. Nicholson Gordon emerged as the pick of Cape Town bowlers, picking up two wickets, while Amir Hamza and Qais Ahmed bagged one wicket apiece.
In response, the Samp Army managed 124/2 in 10 overs. Dawid Malan scored a quickfire 62 off 28 balls with the aid of three sixes and seven boundaries. Brian Benett and Jack Taylor chipped in with scores of 36(21) and 23(9) but failed to take the team over the line. Skipper Rohan Mustafa had a forgetful day, departing for a two-ball duck. Adam Milne starred with the ball for Joburg, bagging two wickets.
Joburg Bangla Tigers have now become the second team after Durban Qalandars to win the Zim Afro T10 league. Qalandars beat Joburg Buffaloes by eight wickets in the 2023 final.
