[Watch] Yash Thakur deceives Jos Buttler with a beautiful delivery in LSG vs RR IPL 2024 match

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) seamer Yash Thakur delivered the wicket of Jos Buttler in his first over during their IPL 2024 clash against the Rajasthan Royals. The Ekana International Stadium hosted the match on Saturday, April 27. With the England white-ball captain going strongly, Buttler missed a full toss after going too far across the stumps, resulting in his dismissal.

The dismissal occurred in the sixth over, the final one of the powerplay as KL Rahul introduced Yash Thakur into the attack. The right-arm seamer sent down a full toss as it dipped into the leg-stump and deceived Buttler to hit the leg-stump. The right-hander was inevitably disappointed and walked back for 34 off 18 deliveries, shaking his head. It ended the 60-run opening stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Although the Englishman didn't start the tournament in the most promising fashion, he has got better with every game. The 32-year-old has already struck two centuries in the competition, both of which have come while chasing.

He breached the three-figure mark against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Jaipur while chasing 183. He did it again against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in pursuit of 223.

Meanwhile, the Super Giants delivered a promising batting performance after Royals skipper Sanju Samson sent them into bat. After Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma shook the Royals' top order, KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda stitched a 115-run stand. Hooda departed for 50, while the skipper made 76.

The home side then slightly struggled to get going in the death overs despite Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni trying their best. Sandeep Sharma, who took a fifer against the Mumbai Indians, returned with figures of 4-0-31-2.

Coming into the match, LSG had beaten the Chennai Super Kings on the back of Marcus Stoinis' stunning hundred at the Chepauk. The Royals, on the other hand, beat the Mumbai Indians.
