[Watch] Yashasvi Jaiswal gets stumped after being outsmarted by Wanindu Hasaranga's wrong'un in 1st IND vs SL T20I

Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's blistering knock in the first T20I against Sri Lanka came to a screeching halt courtesy of Wanindu Hasaranga's brilliance. The left-handed batter recorded 40 runs off 21 deliveries at the Pallekele International Stadium.

Jaiswal kickstarted India's tour of Sri Lanka with his usual aggression, taking on Dilshan Madushanka straightaway. He continued his onslaught by taking on Maheesh Theekshana, helping India amass a record 74-run tally in the powerplay against Sri Lanka.

The hosts had concluded the powerplay with Shubman Gill's wicket, leading to Hasaranga being introduced in the seventh over. The mystery spinner struck with his first delivery itself as Jaiswal failed to deal with the wrong'un while trying to step out a bit and nudge the delivery towards the leg side.

The ball evaded the bat and found its way to the wicket-keeper's gloves while Jaiswal's back foot dragged out of the crease. The bails were whipped off when the batter was midway through the attempt to bring his foot back in. With the foot being in the air, the third umpire adjudged the decision as out, ending Jaiswal's brisk cameo.

Have a look at the dismissal right here:

Yashasvi Jaiswal's innings included five fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 190.48.

Team India maintain same tempo despite losing Gill and Jaiswal in quick succession

The Men in Blue have made their intent clear from the word go, and the aggressive approach did not buckle down despite Gill and Jaiswal being dismissed off successive deliveries. The blockbuster powerplay seamlessly transitioned into the middle overs with the pair of Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant taking charge.

As of writing, India have raced off to 146-2 after 13 overs, with Suryakumar Yadav scoring a brilliant fifty in his maiden game as full-time T20I captain.

Hasaranga, on the other hand, has been the sole bowler who has been able to assert some control over the Indian batters. The spinner has given away only 22 runs from the first three overs of his spell, but lacked support from the other bowlers.
