[Watch] Yashavi Jaiswal answers Indian fans' questions after his 93* against Zimbabwe in the 4th T20I
India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal gave brief, wholesome interviews to his fans at the Harare Sports Club after his 93 not out against Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I on Saturday, July 13. He spoke about his experience with India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad, his chats with Shubman Gill, and the benefits of playing domestic cricket.
Jaiswal didn't play a match in the World Cup, with seniors Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli taking the opening slots. He participated in the victory celebrations before joining the second-string Indian side in Zimbabwe after the second of the five-T20I series. He scored 36(27) in the third match before leading a massive 10-wicket win on Saturday.
"I just enjoyed my processes and being a part of a World Cup champion team," he told one of the fans in a video shared by the BCCI. "I learned a lot. I was excited for my chances. I wanted to try my best and make sure I was contributing for my team."

On his knock against Zimbabwe, the left-hander said:
"I really enjoyed playing today. It was an amazing experience [batting] with Shubman Gill. I really enjoy playing and scoring runs, of course. Whenever I play for India, I really enjoy and feel proud."
Another fan asked him about the conversations he had with stand-in captain Gill during their unbeaten 156-run partnership. He replied:
"We were only thinking about how we could finish the game and win the match for the team. The only thing on our minds was finishing the game and without any loss of wickets."
With these performances, Jaiswal has further cemented his place as India's best opener to take over from Rohit Sharma after his retirement.
"Playing domestic cricket is very beneficial" - Yashasvi Jaiswal
Jaiswal is one of those cricketers who scored so many runs in domestic cricket that it became impossible for the IPL and national selectors to ignore him. A fan asked him about the importance of his roots. He said:
"Playing domestic cricket is very beneficial. You can prepare and get ready for [international] matches. Domestic games are very important for us and we enjoy them."
India lead the series against Zimbabwe 3-1 now. The dead-rubber final game will be played on Sunday, July 14.
