[Watch] "Yeh ab dusri taraf se mahaul bana rahe hai"- Virat Kohli & Suresh Raina's hilarious banter ahead of RCB vs CSK IPL 2024 match
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli and former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina share a great camaraderie and understandably so as the duo spent several years together in the Men in Blue's dressing room.
However, Raina is a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend and took a cheeky dig at Kohli ahead of the all-important IPL 2024 fixture between the two teams. Potentially a knockout game, RCB have to win by either 18 runs or chase the target in around 18.1 overs to go above CSK in the points table.
In a video on Jio Cinema, Suresh Raina was seen jinxing Virat Kohli hilariously by constantly reminding him of RCB's qualification scenario. To this, Kohli replied:
"Yeh ab dusri taraf se mahaul bana rahe hai, muje match mein leke jaa rahe hai, CSK se hai na. (Now he is trying to set me up from the other end because he is from CSK (laughs))."
Here's the video:
RCB have had an incredible turnaround to their IPL 2024 season, winning each of their previous five games to still remain in the hunt for a playoffs spot.
Virat Kohli on his bonding with MS Dhoni
RCB and CSK facing off against each other means that Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni will once again be sharing the field. Kohli understands that it could be the last time he and the legendary wicketkeeper are seen together in competitive cricket.
Kohli knows the emotions among the fans would also be high, given just how pure the bonding between the two star cricketers is. He stated:
"For fans to see him (Dhoni) again, in any stadium in India, is a big thing. Me and him playing again together, maybe for the last time, you never know. That's a special thing. We've had some great memories and partnerships together playing for India. It's always a great occasion when people see us together playing on the field."
CSK and RCB have faced each other 32 times with the Men in Yellow being victors on a staggering 21 occasions. However, Bengaluru have the momentum and with the home crowd behind them, one wouldn't rule out their fairytale story continuing.
