[Watch] "You media guys are to be blamed" - Urvashi Rautela opens up on her comments about Rishabh Pant
Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has blamed the media for blowing her comments on Rishabh Pant out of proportion. Urvashi grabbed the headlines a couple of years back by suggesting that a person called 'RP' waited for ten hours at a hotel lobby to meet her.
During a recent interview with iDiva, Urvashi was asked if she regretted making those comments as she has had to face the brunt of it. The 30-year-old opined that the controversy was sparked by the media and urged them to refrain from talking about such things.
Urvashi Rautela said:
"First of all, I want to make it clear that why is media so after it and it's only because of you guys, you media guys are to be blamed because I think it's just like you know, I mean, I don't know, I wish the media should not talk about it."
Here's what Urvashi Rautela had said while speaking to Bollywood Hungama in 2022:
"I was shooting in New Delhi and I arrived at night. Quickly I had to get ready because actresses need more time to get ready. So, Mr RP came to the hotel lobby and wanted to meet. Ten hours passed and I fell asleep. I couldn’t attend any calls and when I woke up I saw 16-17 missed calls and I felt so bad that someone was waiting for me and I couldn’t meet them. I told him we’ll meet when you come to Mumbai. We met in Mumbai but a huge drama happened with the paps and all."
Since the controversy, Urvashi has been in the spotlight for her cryptic social media posts on many occasions. After Rishabh Pant's car accident in December 2022, she shared a post with the caption 'Praying'.
"Sorry, I am sorry" - When Urvashi Rautela apologized to Rishabh Pant
In September 2022, Urvashi Rautela apologized to Rishabh Pant for her controversial interview. Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Urvashi attempted to make amends by saying sorry to the star cricketer for her comments.
On being asked if she wanted to give any message to Pant, Urvashi responded by saying:
"Seedhi baat no bakwaas, so I am not doing any bakwaas (Straight talk no nonsense). All I want to say is that, nothing… ‘sorry, I am sorry’."
Rishabh Pant is currently part of India's squad for the ongoing three-match home Test series against New Zealand. He will be seen in action in the remaining third and final fixture of the rubber, beginning on Friday, November 1, in Mumbai.
