[Watch] Yuzvendra Chahal delivers ball of the tournament contender to clean up Wayne Madsen in County Championship
Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a sensational delivery to send Wayne Madsen packing on Day 2 (Tuesday, September 10) of the match between Northamptonshire and Derbyshire in the County Championship Division Two. The match is being played in Northampton.
The dismissal came in the 56th over of Derbyshire’s first innings. Chahal bowled a proper leg-spinner to outfox Madsen, who failed to read the line of the ball. The right-hander went for a defensive shot off the fullish length delivery but it beat the outside edge to crash onto the off-stump, leaving Chahal and his teammates in awe.
Madsen scored 47 runs off 61 balls, comprising six boundaries but failed to convert it into a big score.

Yuzvendra Chahal recently made his debut for Northamptonshire against Kent in the One Day Cup, picking up a fifer. The leg-spinner, however, managed a solitary wicket against Middlesex before returning wicketless against Gloucestershire in the County Championship.
Notably, Chahal has been axed from both T20Is and ODIs. The 34-year-old, however, was part of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad before being dropped for the Sri Lanka tour in June. He stays India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 96 scalps in 80 games. The leg-spinner has also scalped 121 wickets in 72 ODIs.
