“Watching you grow has been the greatest adventure” - Mayank Agarwal shares heartwarming post on his son’s second birthday

Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal and his wife Aashita Sood took to social media to share a joint birthday post for their son, Ayaansh, who turned two on Sunday, December 8. The couple got engaged in January 2018 and tied the knot later that year on June 4.

They welcomed their first child, Ayaansh, on December 8, 2022. To mark their son's second birthday, the pair shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing their joy and love. They wrote:

“2 years of pure joy, laughter, and love! Our little digger is turning 2! Happy 2nd birthday to our baby Ayaansh. Watching you grow has been the greatest adventure. Here’s to many more years of fun, learning, and endless cuddles.”

On the cricketing front, Mayank Agarwal’s last international appearance came in a Test match against Sri Lanka in 2022. He has represented India in 21 Tests, scoring 1,488 runs at an average of 41.33, with six fifties and four centuries to his name.

The Karnataka batter has also played five ODIs, accumulating 86 runs. More recently, in a challenging phase of his career, the right-handed batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Mayank has struggled in the last two seasons, scoring just 334 runs in 14 matches, which led to him not finding a bidder in the auction. Overall, he has played 127 IPL matches, accumulating 2,661 runs, including 13 fifties and one century.

Under Mayank Agarwal's captaincy, Karnataka failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024. The team finished fourth in Group B with 12 points, winning just three out of seven matches.

Mayank had a disappointing run with the bat, accumulating only 179 runs in the tournament at a modest average of 25.57, including one fifty.
