"We also only believe on Jassi bhai" - Rishabh Pant reacts to India's 1st BGT 2024-24 Test win in Mohammed Siraj's style
Team India's Rishabh Pant used pacer Mohammed Siraj's viral comments to describe the side's comprehensive 295-run victory over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series in Perth. The keeper-batter used Siraj's 'we only believe on Jassi bhai' dialogue as he shared his excitement about the side's dominant performance.
Along with skipper Jasprit Bumrah, Pant picked Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj as the 'game changers'. Sharing an Instagram story on Monday, November 25, the stumper wrote:
"We also only believe on Jassi bhai, miyan, Rana, KL bhai, YJ and Virat bhai..because game changer players they are.."
It is worth mentioning that Siraj's 'we only believe in Jassi bhai' comments came in a post-match interview after the 2024 T20 World Cup final.
Bumrah bowled a terrific spell in the summit clash against South Africa. He registered figures of 4-0-18-2, helping the Men in Blue secure a thrilling seven-run win. With their comprehensive victory in Perth, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
The second Test is set to be played in Adelaide from December 6. Ahead of the fixture, the visitors will also take part in a two-day warmup match against the Prime Minister's XI from November 30.
Rishabh Pant recently became the most expensive player in IPL history
Rishabh Pant was not retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega-auction. With multiple teams looking for a captaincy candidate, he was expected to be in great demand.
The 27-year-old sparked an intense bidding war, with teams like Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) placing bids for him. Pant was ultimately sold for ₹20.75 crore to LSG.
However, DC used their Right to Match (RTM) card, leading to LSG increasing their bid to a whopping ₹27 crore. It sealed the deal for the Lucknow-based franchise while also making Rishabh Pant the most expensive player in the league's history.
