Australian skipper Pat Cummins was last seen in action at Major League Cricket 2024. He represented the San Francisco Unicorns and had a hand in helping the franchise reach the finals, where they lost to the eventual winners, Washington Freedom.

Cummins has been playing continuous cricket for the last eight months. He led the Australian team that completed a 3-0 whitewash over Pakistan in the Tests and then led his side to a 2-0 Test series win over Trans-Transman rivals, New Zealand.

After completing his national duties, he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, where he was assigned as the captain of the side. Cummins did a great job as he led the team to the final in his maiden campaign as the captain of an IPL side, where they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by nine wickets. Cummins led by example, picking up 18 wickets in 16 games.

The 31-year-old was also a part of the Australian team that travelled to West Indies and USA for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He played five games and managed to pick up nine wickets as Australia crashed out in the Super Eight.

Ahead of Australia's tour of Scotland and England, Cummins has been rested by the selectors.
