"We'll both be cheering for Sharmaji ka beta"- KL Rahul says he and his father-in-law are on the same team now that IPL is over for LSG

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul joked that the rivalry between and his father-in-law Suniel Shetty has ended. In a commercial for IPL 2204, Shetty had said that he would ignore his relation with Rahul and support Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians.

Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians ended their respective IPL 2024 campaigns at the Wankhede. LSG beat MI by 18 runs to end the season on a winning note.

In the post-match presentation, host Harsha Bhogle asked KL Rahul if the rivalry between himself and his father-in-law was over now. Rahul had a big smile on his face as he replied:

"I think I am on my father-in-law's team. I am on his side. We'll both be cheering for Sharmaji ka beta for the World Cup coming up. We'll be glued to the television and sending all our love to the Indian team."

Rahul had a great record against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. He led Lucknow Super Giants to two wins in as many battles against MI this season.

"Maybe middle order, maybe not"- KL Rahul comments on his batting position

Before IPL 2024 began, there were reports claiming that KL Rahul would bat in the middle order for Lucknow Super Giants to increase his chances of returning to India's T20I squad.

However, he batted as an opener for LSG. When asked about his role in the team, Rahul replied:

"Yeah, maybe, maybe not. I don't know. Not sure, there's not much T20 cricket coming up now but it's been a season, where I learnt a lot about my own batting and where I stand and what I need to get better and get back into the team. Maybe middle-order, maybe not, it really depends on what the team needs."

Rahul concluded by saying that he has always adjusted his game as per the team's needs. It will be interesting to see if he can make a return to India's T20I team.
