"We are trying to push the limits of what we can do as a team" - Ryan ten Doeschate ahead of IND vs BAN 2024 3rd T20I

Team India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has stated that they look to push the limits consistently as the Men in Blue target a T20I series sweep over Bangladesh. The former Netherlands all-rounder opined that the recent Kanpur Test was one of the most prominent examples of the same.

The hosts forced a win out of nowhere against Bangladesh in Kanpur despite losing two full days due to rain and a wet outfield. They turbo-charged their batting approach and managed to take 20 wickets to win comprehensively on day five.

When asked if the message to the players is to play fearlessly, the 44-year-old agreed to it and said the advice is also to do it without worrying about the circumstances.

As quoted by ESPNcricinfo, he stated:

"Hundred percent. I think it has shown in the way we have played. The Test match in Kanpur is a great example. We are trying to push the limits of what we can do as a team. We have obviously got the quality to do it. And then it's about giving the players the belief to do it in a safe space, that if it's not going to go right, it's also okay."

With a new-look side, India have outplayed Bangladesh across facets in both T20Is. The home side won the first T20I by seven wickets and the second by 86 runs.

With Hardik Pandya rolling his arms in the first T20I but not the second, Ryan ten Doeschate suggested that India are keen on developing as many bowling options as possible. He added:

"You see the way the game is going, it's very rare that all five bowlers, or even six bowlers, are going to go well on a given day. So it's nice to have options. Ideally, you want them to bowl a little bit more, but someone like Hardik not bowling in the last game, it's just a testament to the depth of the bowling in the team."

The third T20I between both teams will take place on Saturday (October 12). It will also be the final international game for veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah.
