What is the 2024 T20 World Cup final date?

The 2024 T20 World Cup is slowly heading towards its business end, and it will not be long before the semi-finalists are determined through the standings of the Super Eight stage. The final of the competition is not far away with all the heavyweight sides keeping an eye on the ultimate fixture.

The tournament has completely shifted to the West Indies, after the United States of America (USA) hosted some of the group stage matches earlier. Following the Super Eight stages, the top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals, scheduled for June 26 and 27 respectively, and then the all-important final.

The summit clash has been pencilled in for Saturday, June 29 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The venue has already played host to several matches of the group stage and the Super Eight stage of the competition. It most recently witnessed the clash between India and Afghanistan on Thursday, June 20.

The final will be a day encounter and will kickstart at 10am local time, and due to the time difference, for the Indian viewers, the clash will begin at 8pm IST.

Barbados had hosted the final of the 2010 T20 World Cup final as well

The Kensington Oval in Barbados is perhaps the most iconic venue in all of Caribbean islands. It boasts the highest permanent capacity of 28,000 people, making it an ideal spectacle to host a grand contest like the final.

The venue has hosted several historic matches across formats, including the 2007 ODI World Cup final and the 2010 T20 World Cup final, with the latter being the last time that the West Indies had hosted an ICC tournament.

The 2010 T20 World Cup final witnessed two rival sides Australia and England go head to head for their first title in the shortest format. The Paul Collingwood-led side ended up winning the trophy following a seven-wicket win over the Men in Yellow.

India, Australia, England, and South Africa have made winning starts to their Super Eight campaigns, which will end on June 25, following which the knockout stage will commence.
