What happened the last time RR played against MI? Exploring Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians' last match scorecards in IPL
The Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 38 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday (April 22).
The two teams have locked horns 29 times in the IPL, with MI leading the head-to-head ratio 15-13 against RR. One game didn't yield a result.
Mumbai and Rajasthan recently locked horns at Wankhede this season, where the Royals won the game by six wickets.
Asked to bat first, MI posted 125/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Skipper Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma top scored with 34 (21) and 32 (29), respectively. The duo shared a 50-plus partnership after MI were reduced to 20/4. Tim David and Ishan Kishan were the other batters to reach double digits.
Trent Boult scalped three wickets, where he dismissed Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir and Dewald Brevis for golden ducks. Yuzvendra Chahal starred with the ball, with brilliant figures of 3/11, including scalps of Pandya and Varma. Nandre Burger and Avesh Khan bagged two and one wickets, respectively.
In response, RR achieved the target with 4.3 overs to spare. Riyan Parag stayed unbeaten on 54 off 39 deliveries in an innings laced with three sixes and five boundaries to take his team past the finish line.
Akash Madhwal showed a fighting spirit, picking up three wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs. Kwena Maphaka also bagged one wicket.

RR's scorecard from their last IPL game
RR beat KKR by two wickets in a last-ball thriller at Eden Gardens in their last IPL game on April 16.
Asked to bat first, KKR posted 223/6 in 20 overs. Sunil Narine starred with the bat, scoring 109 runs off 56 balls in an innings comprising six maximums and 13 boundaries. Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rinku Singh also chipped in with 30 (18) and 20*(9), respectively.
Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen picked up two wickets apiece for RR, while Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal shared one each.
In response, RR achieved the target off the last ball. Jos Buttler stayed unbeaten on 107 off 60 with the help of six maximums and nine boundaries. Riyan Parag and Rovman Powell also chipped in with 34 (14) and 26*(13), respectively.
Harshit Rana, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy were the leading wicket-takers for KKR, returning with two scalps each. Vaibhav Arora also bagged one.

MI's scorecard from their last IPL match
MI beat Punjab Kings by nine runs in a thriller in Mullanpur during their last IPL match on April 18.
Put in to bat first, MI posted 192/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav top scored with 78 off 53, comprising three sixes and eight boundaries. Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma also chipped in with 36 (25) and 34*(18), respectively.
Harshal Patel was the pick of the PBKS bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/31, while stand-in captain Sam Curran returned with two wickets.
In response, Punjab were bowled out for 183 in 19.1 overs. The hosts got off to the worst possible start as six top-order batters departed cheaply.
Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh put up a fight but failed to take the team past the finish line. Ashutosh single-handedly kept PBKS in the game with his 61 off 28, including seven sixes and two boundaries. Shashank also chipped in with 41 off 25 with the aid of three maximums and two boundaries.
Harpreet Brar contributed 21 off 20 and also shared a 50-plus partnership for the eighth wicket. Gerald Coetzee dismissed Ashutosh to bring MI back into the game.
Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah were the leading wicket-takers with three wickets each. Meanwhile, skipper Hardik Pandya, Akash Madhwal and Shreyas Gopal bagged one wicket apiece.
