Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 69 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday (May 19).
The two teams have locked horns 22 times in the IPL, with SRH leading PBKS by 15:7 in head-to-head battles. The Sunrisers beat Punjab by two runs in a last-over thriller when the two teams faced off in their most recent clash on April 9.
Asked to bat first, SRH put up 182/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Nitish Reddy starred with the bat, scoring 64 runs off 37 balls in an innings laced with five sixes and four boundaries. Abdul Samad and Travis Head chipped in with 25 (12) and 21 (15), respectively.
Arshdeep Singh emerged as the leading wicket-taker for PBKS, finishing with figures of 4/29, while Sam Curran and Harshal Patel bagged two wickets apiece.
In response, Punjab managed 180/6. Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma kept the team alive in the chase but failed to finish off on a winning note. Shashank scored an unbeaten 46 off 25 deliveries, hitting one six and six boundaries. Ashutosh smashed 33* off 15, including two sixes and three boundaries. Sam Curran and Sikandar Raza also chipped in with 29 (22) and 28 (22), respectively.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar starred with the ball for SRH, returning with two wickets, while skipper Pat Cummins, T Natarajan, Nitish Reddy, and Jaydev Unadkat bagged one each.

Batting first, LSG posted 165/4 in their allotted 20 overs. The visitors suffered a poor start as Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis departed early. Captain KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya also threw their wickets at 29 (33) and 24 (21), respectively.
Nicholas Pooran stayed unbeaten on 48 off 26, including one six and six boundaries. Ayush Badoni also scored an unbeaten 55 off 30 with the help of nine boundaries.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up two wickets for SRH, while Pat Cummins bagged a solitary wicket.
In response, Sunrisers achieved the target with 10.2 overs to spare. Travis Head smashed an unbeaten 89 off 30, hitting eight sixes and as many boundaries. Abhishek Sharma also slammed a quickfire 75 off 28 in an innings laced with six maximums and eight boundaries. The duo put on an unbeaten 167-run partnership for the opening wicket.

PBKS’ scorecard from their last IPL game
PBKS beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by five wickets in their last IPL game in Guwahati on May 15.
Batting first, RR posted 144/9 in 20 overs. Riyan Parag starred with the bat, scoring 48 off 34, including six boundaries. Ravichandran Ashwin contributed 28 off 19 with the help of a six and three boundaries. Captain Sanju Samson and Tom Kohler-Cadmore chipped in with identical scores of 18.
PBKS captain Sam Curran, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar picked up two wickets each, while Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis bagged one apiece.
In response, Punjab achieved the target with seven deliveries to spare. The top order failed to deliver as they were reduced to 48/4. Sam Curran came to the rescue, scoring an unbeaten 63 off 41, hitting three sixes and five boundaries to take the team over the line. Rilee Rossouw and Jitesh Sharma chipped in with identical scores of 22.
Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets each for RR, while Trent Boult settled for one wicket.
