Ahaan is a Hindu name for boys with multiple meanings – dawn, sunrise, morning, glory, awakening, consciousness, first ray of light, awareness, etc. The word is derived from Sanskrit – Ahah, which means to awaken.
The word is associated with Lord Vishnu and suggests that the person with the name would be aware of the world around them and strive to grow and learn.
Interestingly, the names of baby boy newborns of popular current India cricketers start with the same “A” alphabet. They are - Virat Kohli (Akaay), Jasprit Bumrah (Angad), Hardik Pandya (Agastya) and now Rohit Sharma (Ahaan). Apart from current players, Sachin Tendulkar had named his son Arjun, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
