When is India's next match in 2024 T20 World Cup?
India hammered Bangladesh by 50 runs in their Group 1 Super 8 match of the 2024 T20 World Cup at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Saturday, June 22. With the triumph, the Men in Blue maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing ICC event.
Sent into bat by Bangladesh, Team India put up 196-5 on the board as Hardik Pandya top-scored with 50* off 27, while Virat Kohli (37 off 28), Rishabh Pant (36 off 26), Shivam Dube (34 off 24) and skipper Rohit Sharma (23 off 11) all chipped in with crucial contributions.
In the chase, Bangladesh were held to 146-8 as Kuldeep Yadav shone with 3-19, while Jasprit Bumrah (2-13) and Arshdeep Singh (2-30) also came up with significant contributions. For the batting side, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto top-scored with 40 off 32.
India's next match will be against high-flying Australia
Team India's third and final Super 8 match of the ICC Men's 2024 T20 World Cup will be against Australia at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Monday, June 24. The game will begin at 8:00 PM IST and 10:30 AM local time.
Like India, Australia are also unbeaten in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The Aussies cruised through the league stage, registering wins over Oman (39 runs), England (36 runs), Namibia (9 wickets) and Scotland (5 five wickets).
In their first Super 8 match, Australia got the better of Bangladesh by 28 runs [DLS method] in Antigua. Batting first, Bangladesh put up a disappointing 140-8 on the board in their 20 overs as Pat Cummins (3-29) claimed a hat-trick, while Adam Zampa picked up 2-24.
In the chase, Australia were 100-2 in 11.2 overs, with David Warner unbeaten on 53 off 35 when rain allowed no further play. The Aussies were comfortably ahead of the DLS par score and hence were declared winners.
Before the match against the Men in Blue, Australia will take on Afghanistan in their second Super 8 match of the 2024 T20 World Cup at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent. The game will be played on Sunday, June 23.
