What happened when India and England met in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal?
The India vs England semifinal in Guyana will be a rematch of sorts. The two sides clashed in the second semifinal of the 2022 T20 World Cup at the Adelaide Oval. The Men in Blue will not have fond memories of that game, as they were hammered by 10 wickets.
Bowling first after winning the toss, England held India to 168-6 as Chris Jordan claimed 3-43, while leg-spinner Adil Rashid was economical with figures of 1-20. For the batting side, Pandya top-scored with 63 off 33, slamming four fours and five sixes. Kohli chipped in with 50 off 40.
The total, though, proved way too inadequate, as England stormed into the 2022 T20 World Cup final with a thumping victory. Alex Hales top-scored with 86* off 47, while skipper Jos Buttler hammered 80* off 40 to knock India out of the tournament.
