"When people create imbalances, universe balances" - Virat Kohli's sister reacts after RCB's 9-wicket win over GT in IPL 2024
Virat Kohli and Will Jacks starred with the bat in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's comprehensive nine-wicket win over the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday in the ongoing IPL 2024.
After being asked to bat first, GT registered 200/3 after 20 overs, courtesy of Sai Sudharsan's 84*-run knock and Shahrukh Khan's contribution of 58. Swapnil Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and Glenn Maxwell claimed a wicket each for RCB.
In reply, the Bengaluru-based side made a mockery of the stiff target, with Will Jacks remaining unbeaten on 100 in just 41 balls. Virat Kohli continued his impressive run, scoring 70* off 44 deliveries as RCB chased down the score in just 16 overs with nine wickets in hand.
Following the convincing victory, Virat's sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, shared an Instagram story to congratulate the team. Amid the criticism the star batter has received for his strike rate, she also took a cryptic dig at the former RCB skipper's naysayers, writing:
"When people create imbalances, universe balances. Keep it up guys. All the reasons to be forever proud. What a knock Jack and Virat. You guys rocked the show."
During the GT vs RCB match, Virat Kohli became the first batter to cross the 500-run mark in IPL 2024. He is currently the Orange Cap holder, having chalked up 500 runs from 10 outings at a strike rate of 147.49.
"There's a reason why you've done it for 15 years" - Virat Kohli opens up on chatter around his strike rate
Speaking at the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli spoke about his IPL 2024 strike rate being under the scanner. The ace batter took an indirect dig at the commentators who have target him for his scoring rate.
The 35-year-old mentioned that his sole focus is on winning matches for his team, which he has done for almost 15 years now. Kohli said:
"For me, it's about winning the games for the team and there's a reason why you've done it for 15 years, you've done this day in and day out, you've won games for your teams. I'm not quite sure, if you haven't been in that situation yourself, to sit and talk about the game from the box."
Virat Kohli will next be seen in action on Saturday, May 4, when RCB take on GT at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
