When is RR's next match in IPL 2024? Date, Time & Opposition

Rajasthan Royals (RR) went down to Punjab Kings (PBKS) by five wickets in match number 66 of IPL 2024 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, May 15. Batting first, RR were held to 144-9, which PBKS chased down in 18.5 overs.

Rajasthan's batting struggled for momentum, and barring Riyan Parag (48 off 34) and Ravichandran Ashwin (28 off 19), the rest couldn't make much of an impact. With the ball, Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two scalps each, but skipper Sam Curran guided Punjab home with 63* off 41.

Rajasthan's loss on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive defeat in IPL 2024. Although they have qualified for the playoffs, Sanju Samson and co. will be keen to end the league stage on a high when they take on table toppers Kolkata Knight Riders at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, May 19.

KKR challenge awaits RR in Guwahati

The Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders clash at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on May 19 will be match number 70 of IPL 2024.

This game will also mark the conclusion of the league stage of the competition. The RR-KKR match will be an evening game, which will start at 7:30 pm IST. The toss will be at 7 pm.

When the two sides met in the first half of IPL 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 16, they played out a cliff-hanger.

In a high-scoring clash, Kolkata batted first and put up 223-6 as Sunil Narine clobbered 109 off 56. Jos Buttler then hit an unbeaten 107 off 60 deliveries as Rajasthan Royals sneaked home to a two-wicket win off the last ball.

While Kolkata are confirmed to finish atop the IPL 2024 points table, Rajasthan will join them in Qualifier 1 if they beat KKR on Sunday in Guwahati. A win over Kolkata will see Rajasthan ending the league stage with 18 point.

If Sunrisers Hyderabad go down to Punjab Kings in their last league match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, they will stay on 15 points.

Even if the SRH-PBKS match is abandoned, Hyderabad will end on 16 points. Chennai Super Kings also cannot go past 16 points.

As such, Rajasthan Royals would qualify for the playoffs as the second-placed team. The Royals, though, would have their task cut out against KKR, who have won nine of their 13 matches so far.
