Team India hammered South Africa by 135 runs in the fourth and final T20I of the series at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday, November 15. With the win, India clinched the series 3-1. Batting first after winning the toss, the Men in Blue put up 283-1 on the board and then cleaned up the Proteas for 148.

Sanju Samson (109* off 56) and Abhishek Sharma (36 off 18) added a brisk 73 for the first wicket. Samson then joined hands with Tilak Varma as the duo featured in an unbroken 210-run partnership for the second wicket. Samson hit six fours and nine sixes in his innings, while Varma struck nine fours and 10 sixes, notching up his second consecutive T20I ton.

South Africa got off to a horrendous start in the chase and were reduced to 10-4 after three overs as left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh claimed three quick scalps. Spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel also picked up two wickets each as the Proteas succumbed to a huge defeat.

Team India's next match will be the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth

While the T20I side has completed its assignment in South Africa, India's Test side has been preparing Down Under for the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The series will get underway with the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth starting November 22. The Test match will begin at 7:50 AM IST and 10:20 AM local time.

India have played one Test match at the Optus Stadium in Perth in December 2018. The visitors, led by Virat Kohli, went down to Australia by 146 runs. Kohli scored 123 in India's first innings, while Mohammed Shami picked up six wickets in the second innings. However, most of the players struggled.

The visitors have also played four matches at the WACA in Perth, winning one Test and losing the other three. India's only Test victory in Perth came in January 2008. Irfan Pathan starred with both bat and ball, while Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman registered crucial half-centuries as India won the contest by 72 runs.
