When and where will Team India play their next ODI series?

Team India suffered a shocking ODI series defeat against Sri Lanka, going down 0-2 in the three-match affair. This is the first time they have lost a bilateral ODI series against the Lankans since 1997.

After inflicting a 3-0 whitewash in the T20Is, Rohit Sharma and his men were the overwhelming favorites in the 50-over competition. However, they were humbled by the mighty Lankans.

The home side produced an excellent comeback to tie the first game of the series. The next two matches were one-sided with Sri Lankan spinners dictating the play. The Men in Blue batters failed to chase down targets on both occasions, losing by 32 and 110 runs in the second and third ODIs, respectively.

With the Sri Lanka series in the history books now, fans are looking forward to India's next ODI assignment. However, much to their dismay, Rohit and company do not have any more ODI series scheduled this year. Their next ODI series will be against England in February 2025 at home.

The three-match series will get underway on February 6 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. The final two games of the series will be played on February 9 and 12 at the Barabati Stadium in Odisha and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, respectively.

This will be India's final ODI assignment before the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is making a return for the first time since 2017.

What happened the last time India met England in an ODI series?

The two teams last met in a bilateral ODI series back in 2022 in the United Kingdom. It was a three-match affair, which the Men in Blue won by a 2-1 margin.

India began the series with a thumping 10-wicket victory at The Oval before the hosts returned the favor to make it 1-1. England won by 100 runs after restricting the visitors to 146 runs in the second outing at Lord's.

The final match of the series in Manchester saw Rohit and company come all guns blazing. They successfully chased down 260 runs in 42.1 overs with five wickets in hand to win the series.
