Which team has bought Mitchell Starc and for how much money in IPL 2025 Auction?
Australia's ace pacer Mitchell Starc was signed by Delhi Capitals (DC) on Day 1 (Sunday, November 24) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. The franchise shelled out ₹11.75 crore to acquire the speedster's services.
Starc set a base price of ₹2 crore for the event. Mumbai Indians (MI) were the first ones to place the bid and were soon joined by the left-arm bowler's former team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
MI and KKR were involved in a bidding war. Things intensified as DC alongside Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) came in. The Delhi-based side ultimately succeeded in roping in the seasoned campaigner.
It is worth mentioning that Starc is set for a big pay cut, given that he took home a whopping ₹24.75 crore for his stint with KKR in IPL 2024. Kolkata did show interest in re-signing him but stopped bidding at the ₹10-crore mark. Since they retained the maximum number of players before the auction, they didn't have a single Right to Match (RTM) card at their disposal.
