Wiaan Mulder falls for 27 after soft stroke off Mitchell Starc in SA vs AUS 2025 WTC final [Watch]
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc dismissed South African batter Wiaan Mulder for 27 in the second innings of the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord's on Friday, June 13. The right-hander's cover drove a full ball from Starc into the hands of Marnus Labuschagne, who took a low catch to send the batter back to the pavilion.
It was Starc's second wicket of the innings after he had removed Ryan Rickelton for six runs. It was a breakthrough which Australia needed desperately as Mulder and Aiden Markram were motoring along at a brisk pace in their chase of 282 runs.

Markram and Mulder had put on 61 runs for the second wicket, helping South Africa build the foundation in their chase of 282 runs.
Aiden Markram holds key as South Africa look to chase down 282 runs for victory
The dismissal of Wiaan Mulder meant that the onus was on Aiden Markram and the other batters to try and chase down the score of 282 runs in the fourth innings. Markram had looked fluent in good batting conditions on Day Three, having found the measure of pace and spin. He was joined by Temba Bavuma to the crease, after Mulder's dismissal.
Earlier, an unbeaten 58 off 136 runs from Mitchell Starc and an invaluable stand of 59 runs with Josh Hazlewood for the last wicket helped Australia reach 207 all out in their second innings.
Hazlewood was the last wicket to fall for a 53-ball 17, caught by Keshav Maharaj off Aiden Markram. The dismissal ended a frustrating period of play for South Africa, who once had Australia at 73/7 in their second innings before the lower-order rallied to take Australia to a defendable score in the final innings of the match. At the time of writing, South Africa were 90/2 in 23 overs.
