"Will do a good job" - Dinesh Karthik names Bollywood star who is best suited to play Virat Kohli in his biopic
Several fans have been manifesting former Team India skipper Virat Kohli's biopic. Former wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik was recently asked about which Bollywood actor would be best suited to play the star batter in his biopic.
Karthik suggested that Ranbir Kapoor would do justice to Kohli's role if a move is made on the latter's life story.
During a discussion on Cricbuzz, the cricketer-turned-commentator said:
"Ranbir Kapoor will do a good job. I just hope that Ranbir Kapoor can mimic the way he plays cricket. That's the important part. I haven't seen Ranbir Kapoor play cricket so far."
It is worth mentioning that during the 2023 ODI World Cup, Ranbir Kapoor suggested that Virat Kohli himself should act in his biopic, as he is better looking than a lot of Indian actors.
Here's what Ranbir said on Star Sports:
"If a Biopic is made on Virat Kohli, then Kohli should play the role of Kohli in it because Virat looks better than many actors and his fitness is also very good."
Dinesh Karthik also picked actors who would be ideal to play some other top Indian cricket stars in their respective biopics. For Rishabh Pant, he picked Telugu actor Nani as his preferred choice.
Speaking of Suryakumar Yadav, Karthik mentioned that because of his comic sense, the likes of Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal would be good picks. He stated that the dynamic batter would be very happy if one of those two played his role, given his fascination for 'Hera Pheri'.
He further added that Ranveer Singh and Rajpal Yadav could be the actors to play Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal, respectively.
Dinesh Karthik wants one of his favourite actors to play Rohit Sharma in his biopic
Dinesh Karthik opined that for Team India skipper Rohit Sharma's biopic, Vijay Sethupathi would be the right fit. He mentioned how Sethupathi is brilliant in both comic and serious roles, making him the right candidate to play Sharma's role.
The 39-year-old said:
"One of my faourite actors, Vijay Sethupathi. I think he's got a great comic sense, but can be serious as well. So, I think he'll suit the role perfectly."
In the video, he concluded by saying Rajkumar Rao would be someone who can imitate Jasprit Bumrah very well. For himself, Karthik remarked that he many have told him that he looks like Vikrant Massey.
