“Wrong number right nikal gaya” - Ravi Bishnoi shares hilarious meme referencing Rinku Singh
Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi shared a picture on Instagram on July 31, featuring Rinku Singh and an iconic Akshay Kumar meme. The Men in Blue defeated Sri Lanka in a Super Over in the final game of the three three-match series on July 30 to whitewash the hosts.
India had a poor outing with the bat in the third game, managing to put just 137 on the board after being asked to bat first. Shubman Gill (39) was the highest scorer for the visitors.
In response, Sri Lanka were 129/4 after 18 overs, needing only nine runs to win off the last 12 balls. With the pitch assisting spinners, India gave the ball to Rinku Singh to bowl the penultimate over of the game.
The off-spinner, who was bowling for the first time in T20Is, didn't disappoint, picking up two important wickets (Kusal Perera and Ramesh Mendis) and conceding only three runs to put the hosts under pressure.
In the last over, it was Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav who rolled his arm over, taking two wickets as the match went into a Super Over.
Washington Sundar was brilliant for the visitors in the Super Over, taking 2/2. In response, Suryakumar hit the first ball for four to win the game for India.
After winning the third game, Ravi Bishnoi posted a photo of himself batting (he scored eight important runs). It also featured Rinku Singh celebrating after taking a wicket. With the roles reversed, he included the well-known "idhar ka udhar" meme featuring Akshay Kumar.
He captioned the post:
“Wrong number right nikal gaya.”
This was India’s first series win under new coach Gautam Gambhir.
“If you put your heart into it, you can pull it off” - Suryakumar Yadav shares his message to the boys before Sri Lanka’s chase
At the post-match presentation, captain Suryakumar Yadav said he injected belief into his players by assuring them that the total of 138 could be defended.
"140 was a par score on this track. I told them I've seen such kinds of games and I told the boys if you put your heart into it, you can pull it off. The amount of skill they have and self-confidence they have - it makes my job easy. The care for each other they show is unbelievable. They made my job easy and when I go into bat, I have little pressure and I just express myself. I don't want to be the captain. I want to be the leader," he said.
Suryakumar also won the Player of the Series award.
