Rohit Sharma on his emotions after the T20 World Cup win
As Hardik Pandya bowled the last ball of the final, Rohit Sharma went down on his knees in celebration. He also laid down on the ground and punched the turf in relief.
After the game, Rohit talked about his emotions, highlighting how India had come close to winning tournaments several times recently. Here's what he told reporters:
"I wanted this badly. Very hard to put it in words. At that moment, I didn't know how to express what was going in my mind. It was a very emotional moment. I wish I could capture that moment myself, but not really, you can't do that. But I will always remember that. Those are the moments you wait for. You don't plan these things. I was very desperate for this in my life. Happy that we eventually crossed the line this time."
It will be interesting to see who India's next T20I captain will be with the likes of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah in the mix.
