"You will always remain my younger brother": DC co-owner pens heartfelt post for Rishabh Pant following IPL 2025 auction
Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal took to X on Tuesday (November 26) following the IPL 2025 auction to express his gratitude to Rishabh Pant. It comes on the back of the franchise parting ways with the wicketkeeper-batter after a nine-year-long association.
Pant made his IPL debut in 2016 with the Capitals and also led the side from the 2021 season onwards. Under his captaincy, the side secured wins in 23 out of 43 games. The last edition saw the southpaw emerge as the leading scorer for the side with 446 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 155.40.
However, DC opted to release him ahead of the mega auction. After multiple teams showed interest in securing his services, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a winning bid of INR 20.75 crore for Pant. However, the Capitals decided to use the RTM card to bring him back into the setup. Nevertheless, LSG elevated their final bid to INR 27 crore, and the Capitals had to let go of their superstar.
Having a cordial relationship with Rishabh Pant since JSW Sports took the co-ownership in 2018, Jindal poured his heart out in a post dedicated to the franchise's former captain. He termed Pant his 'younger brother' and wrote:
"To Rishabh @RishabhPant17 you are and will always remain my younger brother - from the bottom of my heart I love you and I have tried everything to make sure you are happy and have treated you like my family. I am very sad to see you go and I am very emotional about it."
"You will always be in DC and I hope one day we can reunite. Thank you for everything Rishabh and remember that we will always love you - go well champ, the world is at your feet. Best wishes from all of us at @DelhiCapitals - other than when you play DC I will be cheering and hoping for the best for you," he added.
