"Your love and blessings keep me going" - Suryakumar Yadav thanks his well-wishers for making his 34th birthday special
Indian star batter Suryakumar Yadav thanked his fans and cricket fraternity for pouring their wishes on his 34th birthday on September 14. He shared a heartfelt post on his Instagram account on Saturday night.
In the last few years, SKY has become an integral part of the Indian limited-overs team. In 71 T20Is, he has garnered over 2,400 runs and is second in terms of most centuries (4) in the format.
The right-hander rose to the top of the T20I rankings first in October 2022, while reigning as the No. 1 batter from December 2023 to June 2024. However, due to the drop in form, he is currently second behind the in-form Travis Head.
After Gautam Gambhir became the head coach, he appointed Surya as the Indian team's T20I captain. In his first stint, the middle-order batter led the team to a 3-0 series whitewash against Sri Lanka in July. He scored 92 runs and also took two wickets in the final game to win the final game for the Men in Blue.
Here's what SKY posted on Instagram:
"Thank you for making my Birthday extra special with your lovely wishes. Your love and blessings keep me going 🧿💫"
