NKP Salve Challenger Trophy: SS Roy replaces injured Mandeep Singh in India Blue squad

Sibsankar Roy of Assam will replace Mandeep Singh of Punjab in the India Blue squad for NKP Salve Challenger trophy 2013.

On behalf of Assam Cricket Association, Gautam Roy, president, and Bikash Baruah, secretary, confirmed the news and expressed their happiness. He will be only representative of Assam in the Challenger trophy this season, following in the footsteps of Zakaria Zuffri, Sukhvinder Singh and Dhiraj Goswami, the cricketers from Assam to have played in the tournament.

Sibsankar made the first class debut in the season 2008-2009 against Tripura. This 23-year-old lad from Guwahati was the key member of Assam squad which entered the final of the last year’s Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Challenger trophy will commence from 26th of September at Indore. Yuvraj Singh will lead the India Blue squad.
