Nostalgic moments from Tendulkar's life on view
Kolkata, Nov 4 (IANS) Sachin Tendulkar playing chess with another cricketing great Vivian Richards, listening to tips on art from painter Maqbool Fida Husain, cheering up a young cerebral palsy patient – these are frozen frames on display at a Kolkata club.
Unveiled by the Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya, the photograph exhibition showcases various moods and highlights of Tendulkar’s life, as the batting genius gears up for his 199th and penultimate Test match at the Eden Gardens here, beginning Nov 6.
The 199 photos on show include the master’s visit to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Pakistan of Imran Khan, celebrations of the Indian cricket team after the 2011 World Cup triumph, and a young Tendulkar taking a nap in the Indian dressing room.
Images of Tendulkar’s marriage, and some childhood moments with his parents are also part of the exhibition, which will continue till Nov 10, when the Eden match is slated to end.
