New Zealand vs England: Five Highlights from Day One

New Zealand v England - 1st Test: Day 1
Kiwis were on a roll through the day at Eden Park, Auckland

Day Night cricket made an exciting debut at Eden Park, Auckland which saw 13 wickets fall in the first day for 233 runs.

New Zealand skipper Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl on a surface which was expected to offer some assistance early on.

In a display of relentless high-class swing bowling by the duo of Boult and Southee, England were shot out for 58. It was England's sixth-lowest total in their cricket history.

In what would serve as a sweet revenge to the Kiwis, is the fact that England had demolished them for Test cricket's lowest score of 26 at the same venue 63 years earlier.

We look back at five key highlights from an enthralling day's play.

#1 Brilliant Boult

New Zealand v England - 1st Test: Day 1
Boult Ripped through the English lineup

On a pitch that was offering slight assistance due to the grass cover, Boult showcased one of the finest displays of swing and seam bowling on New Zealand soil.

Coming off a bustling run, he powers through the crease with a nice side on action which allows him to get the late swing.

He bowled an impeccable length neither too full for the batsman to drive nor too short. The length of his deliveries coupled with prodigious late swing left the English batsman's head scrambled and feet stuck.

Aided by his bowling partner Southee at the other end, they demolished England's top order in just over 20 overs.
