One fast bowler each IPL franchise should target at the auction

The T20 format is considered to favour the batsmen more than the bowlers. The fast bowlers, especially are smashed to the fence quite often mainly in the death overs. They have no room for error and hence have to be accurate at bowling the yorkers at the end. Fast bowlers are often blamed for the team's poor performance. Therefore, there is a lot of pressure on their shoulders to succeed or otherwise perish.

In this year's auction, there is a requirement for a fast bowler in each team. Hence, there would be a lot of demand for them this year. Let us have a look at the one fast bowler each IPL franchise should target at the auction.

Delhi Daredevils - Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat had a season to forget at the 2018 IPL. Being the costliest Indian player to be bought at the 2017 IPL auction for a fee of 11.5cr, the Rajasthan Royals didn't receive any dividend from him as took just 11 wickets in 15 matches at a dismissal average of 44.18. Hence, the Rajasthan Royals have released him from the team before the auctions.

The Delhi Daredevils have a superb overseas pace attack consisting of Boult, Rabada, and Morris. Having released their premier Indian pace, Mohammed Shami, the Daredevils need to look for a suitable Indian pacer for his replacement at the auction. Unadkat is a suitable candidate to fill this void at the auction.

Kings XI Punjab - Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami is perhaps the most experienced Indian pacer available at the auction. Despite regularly bowling at the speed of 140kph, Shami has been quite used to the test match line and hence has still not adapted to the T20 length. Thus, he was quite expensive regarding his figures last year.

Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, have lacked a quality Indian speedster in the last couple of seasons. Having released their T20 specialist Mohit Sharma before the auction, they need an experienced Indian pacer to provide support to their strike bowler Andrew Tye.
