IPL 2018 : Overseas players who are unlikely to make it into the starting lineup

Chennai Super Kings v Royal Challengers Bangalore - IPL T20
Overseas players have always added glamour to each season of the IPL

There's hardly a month left for the world's most popular domestic T20 league to begin. This year's IPL is going to be a blockbuster as it marks the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals after both of them served a ban of two years.

Overseas players have always added glamour to each and every season of IPL. However, there have been few overseas players who end up warming up the benches in the entire season.

This season too all of the squads are very strong and there are few overseas players who may not be able to make into the XI this season.

Let's look onto the list of overseas players from each franchise who may not be able to make the cut into the starting line-up.

#1 Ben Dwarshuis - Kings XI Punjab

BBL - Hurricanes v Sixers
Dwarshuis had a fantastic BBL season

With the likes of Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch, David Miller, Marcus Stoinis and Andrew Tye in the team it is very difficult for Dwarshuis to make into the XI. He was bought for 1.40 Crores by Kings XI Punjab.

However, it is important for us to recognize his incredible statistics.

He has played 25 matches in his BBL Career and bagged 29 wickets at an incredible average of 24.80. He also proved to be a good hitter of the ball in the 7th season of BBL where he scored 42 runs in four innings at a thunderous strike rate of 144.83.

#2 Mitchell Johnson - Kolkata Knight Riders

1st Test - Australia v West Indies: Day 3
Johnson has been an efficient bowler for a long time

The Australian bowler has undoubtedly been a very experienced bowler. However, with overseas players like Chris Lynn, Andre Russel, Mitchell Starc, Sunil Narine, it will be difficult for Johnson to make into the lineup for KKR.

He was bought for 2 Crores by the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Mitchell Johnson has played 73 Tests and bagged 313 wickets at a sensational economy rate of 3.33.

Johnson also has an experience of 153 wickets and bagged 239 at an impressive economy of 4.83. He also has some impressive statistics in T20I where he has bagged 38 wickets.
