Pakistan are worse than Bangladesh, says Shoaib Akhtar
Former Pakistani fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, has yet again stirred up a controversy by lashing out at the current Pakistan team and describing their batting as “worse than Bangladesh”.
“I am saying this with certainty if Bangladeshi batsmen had been playing this series they would have won it 5-0. South Africa has not won this series they have been gifted it by our spineless batting,” – Shoaib Akhtar said.
Pakistan lost the fourth match of ODI series last night against South Africa and forfeited the series with a margin of 3-1. Pakistan were set a target of 267 runs which they failed to chase down. In yet another display of batting collapse, Pakistan slid from 228 for 5 to 231 for 8 and lost the game.
Even in the first game, Pakistan had lost the game by one run while chasing 184. They lost their last six wickets in 34 balls for just 17 runs.
According to Akhtar, even Bangladesh would have done a better job than the Pakistani batsmen.
“The worst part is that we have lost on pitches that are more suited to our batting and there appears to be no intent or purpose in our side,” he further said.
Incidentally, Bangladesh recently whitewashed New Zealand in a three-match ODI series and their batsmen chased down 300 plus totals with ease.
