Pakistan born Sikander Raza to play for Zimbabwe against India
Pakistan born cricketer Sikander Raza has been picked to play for Zimbabwe in the ensuing series against India.
Raza had recently made his ODI debut against Bangladesh at Bulawayo in May 2013. He has now been included in the Brendon Taylor led, 16-member Zimbabwe squad that will face India in a five match ODI series to begin on 24th July.
Sikander Raza was born in Sialkot which is in the northeast region of Pakistan. He had shifted to Zimbabwe along with his parents in 2002 and has made the country his home.
Making his first class debut in 2007, Raza only started playing full time cricket once he had completed his studies. In the year 201 1 he had a full first class season where he scored 625 runs at an average of 41, thereby impressing the selectors.
In other team news Zimbabwe have dropped wicket keeper Regis Chakabva. They have included five seamers in Kyle Jarvis, Brian Vitori, Tendai Chatara, Elton Chigumbura and Michael Chinouya. Captain Brendon Taylor will keep wickets.
