Pakistan fielding coach threatens to quit after spat with senior players
Pakistan fielding coach, Grant Luden, reportedly threatened to resign from his post complaining of misbehaviour by three senior players. Luden complained to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Sheheryar Ahmed Khan regarding the reported spat that he was involved in with Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal during a training session
Luden had joined the Pakistan team after quitting from the Bangladesh backroom staff in May 2014 to sign a two-year contract with the PCB. According to sources, the PCB chief has directed team manager Naveed Akram Cheema to resolve the matter.
Pakistan had already been given jolts ahead of the World Cup with Saeed Ajmal having to withdraw from the World Cup and the bowling ban on Mohammad Hafeez for the World Cup due to suspect bowling action.
This news will now come as a shock to the Pakistan fans, who are licking their wounds following a defeat to arch-rivals India, where they gave a shambolic fielding display dropping a number of catches and misfielding innumerable times.
Pakistan will look to resolve the matter ahead of their next match in the World Cup against West Indies on the 21st of February to get their campaign back on track.
