Latest ICC Test Rankings: Pakistan drop to fourth after drawn series against New Zealand
New Zealand’s innings and 80-run win over Pakistan in the third Test on Sunday not only enabled them to level the three-match series, 1-1, but also helped them gain one rankings point in the latest ICC Team Rankings for Tests, leaving them just two behind sixth-placed India. Pakistan, meanwhile, have dropped from third position to fourth.
The Brendon McCullum-led Black Caps have been in impressive form over the last 12 months, and they will be looking to go past India when they take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series at home, which starts on December 26.
South Africa continue to occupy the top spot with 124 points. Australia are currently second with 117 points and they have a chance to put pressure on the Proteas, courtesy of their four-match Test series against India.
England, meanwhile, have benefitted from Pakistan’s slip up and are third in the rankings, while Sri Lanka are ranked fifth.
