Pakistan look to end tour on a high

Pakistan won the first T20 comfortably
Pakistan won the first T20 comfortably

Pakistan will be looking to end the Sri Lankan tour on a high with a win tonight in the second and final T20 international at Colombo. After winning the first T20 international at the same venue by a comfortable margin of 29 runs, the Shahid Afridi led side will be feeling confident that they can wrap up the series.

For the hosts though, this will be a very big game as they wouldn’t want to suffer a complete whitewash having already lost the Test and the ODI series in front of their home crowd. The skipper Lasith Malinga has been very critical of his own performances and he would want to step up a notch tonight.

The island nation would want to watch out for veterans Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez as these two have been in very good form with the bat off late. For Sri Lanka, the openers Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kusal Perera hold the key as a solid start would calm some nerves.

It will be interesting to see if comeback man Chamara Kapugedara is given a promotion in the batting order tonight after his cameo in the first match.

Here are the predicted line-ups for both sides:

Sri Lanka: 1 Kusal Perera (wk), 2 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 3 Kithuruwan Vithanate, 4 Dhananjaya de Silva, 5 Angelo Mathews, 6 Milinda Siriwardene, 7 Chamara Kapugedara 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Nuwan Kulasekara 10 Jeffrey Vandersay, 11 Lasith Malinga (C)

Pakistan: 1 Mukhtar Ahmed, 2 Ahmed Shehzad, 3 Mohammad Hafeez, 4 Shoaib Malik, 5 Umar Akmal, 6 Shahid Afridi (C) 7 Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 8 Imad Wasim, 9 Anwar Ali, 10 Sohail Tanvir, 11 Mohammad Irfan
