Cricket may not be a sport played in a whole number of countries across the world, but the places where they do have a presence, the cricketers enjoy much fan-following. That is especially true in the case of Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh where the stars are followed in huge numbers on and off the field.

A normal outing on the streets in the case of these cricketers is pretty much non-existent as they get swarmed by people eager to catch a glimpse of their favourite superstars. This happens not only when the cricketers are back in their homeland but also when they are touring in a foreign land as Pakistan’s cricketers recently found out.

Misbah-ul-Haq’s men are currently midway through their four-Test series against England in a contest which is evenly poised, to say the least. Heading into the series as clear underdogs after England dismissed another Asian country in Sri Lanka, barely a month ago, Pakistan stunned the Lord’s crowd to claim a thrilling 75-run victory over the hosts thanks largely to Yasir Shah’s 10-wicket-haul as well as skipper Misbah-ul-Haq’s brilliant century.

England came roaring back though in the second Test with skipper Alastair Cook and Joe Root batting the opposition out of the match to claim an innings victory. The visitors then took on Worcestershire in a practice match and all now all set to battle it out Cook & co in the third Test which begins at Birmingham on Wednesday.

A few members of the Pakistan side that played in the match in Worcester had a memorable evening during one of the days as a Pakistan supporter was overcome with emotions after coming across his favourite cricketers while they were dining out at Raj Shahi, a high street Indian and Bangladeshi food restaurant located in the West Midlands city.

The Pakistan team was staying at the Hilton Puckrup Hall Hotel near Tewkesbury and made a visit to the restaurant which is very popular with the immigrant population in the locality. One such Pakistani fan had a day to remember in addition to the great food that is served at the restaurant as he was able to catch a glimpse of Yasir Shah among others.

Naz Uddin who works at Raj Shahi, claimed that the supported was so overwhelmed with emotions that he couldn’t hold back his tears.

"He was literally in tears," he said.

The people working at the restaurant had a pretty good time as well with the cricketers obliging to their request of clicking a few pictures.
