Pakistan vs South Africa 2013: Hashim Amla doubtful while Dale Steyn rested for ODI series
South African batting star, Hashim Amla is doubtful for the ODI series against Pakistan in UAE as his wife is yet to deliver their second child. Incidentally Amla also didn’t feature in the second Test against Pakistan so that he could stay with his family on such a momentous occasion.
In case Amla doesn’t play the ODIs, the left-handed Colin Ingram has been kept as stand by. Apart from Amla, South Africa’s premier fast bowler, Dale Steyn, has also been rested for the first two games. He had a minor problem with his hamstring before the second Test and the South African management doesn’t want to aggravate the problem by playing him in the first two ODIs.
Dale Steyn last featured for South Africa in coloured clothing in the Champions Trophy in England and didn’t turn out for the Sri Lanka series owing to a few niggles.
South Africa, who won the last Test match in Dubai to level the Test series at 1-1, will be looking to score a convincing victory in the limited overs format against a mercurial Pakistan side.
