Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2019: Hasan Ali ruled out for six weeks with a rib fracture

Pakistan right-arm fast bowler, Hasan Ali will not be able to take part in the upcoming 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka courtesy a rib fracture he sustained recently. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed his injury status on the 29th of November.
The background
Hasan Ali had made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2017. He had made a name for himself while playing in the limited overs formats at the international level. The pace bowler has so far featured in 9 Test matches, taking 31 wickets at a splendid economy rate of 3.09. Besides, he has also taken 160 wickets in the 39 first-class matches he has played.

The heart of the matter
Hasan Ali was playing in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy for Central Punjab. But, the fast bowler had pulled out of his team's ninth round match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last week citing rib pain. He later travelled to Karachi where precautionary scans indicated that he had cortical rib fractures.
What's next?
The injury has ruled him out of action for the rest of the year. Besides, the fast-bowler will miss Pakistan's first home Test series under the ICC World Test Championship, which will begin on the 11th of December in Rawalpindi.
